Best Buddies Citizens pairs people with intellectual disabilities in one-to-one friendships with other individuals in the corporate and civic communities.
Friends and family are the foundation that help each of us become successful. Without love, support, and friends, our lives would be empty - a life people with intellectual disabilities have been forced to live throughout history.
As friends, we share each other's victories and lean on each other for support. Now who doesn't need that?
The application process is simple, but thorough:
1) Complete an application by contacting our office at 822-2268.
2) Meet with a Best Buddies Staff Member at your home.
3) Best Buddies will complete a background check.
4) Meet your Match!
We match based on age, gender, common interests and geographic location. We work hard to make sure that the friend you are matched with will share similar interests and will help you to get to know each other through a match meeting.
5) One-to-One Outings with your new BEST BUDDY!
If you are over the age of 18 and you are ready to share the gift of friendship, contact your local Best Buddies office at (702) 822-2268 and ask for the Citizens Program Manager. |
